Dear Parents/Carers,

Welcome to Sladefield Infant School. I am extremely proud to be the Head Teacher of this family orientated school, and be part of the ‘Sladefield Family’. Our school has a very strong community feel, and has been home to generations of family members – many of our parents, grandparents, aunties, uncles and extended family members were taught at Sladefield when they were young, and so it is a pleasure to be keeping that family spirit going.

Our ethos has been built around our Sladefield Values which provide a framework through which everyone who comes into our school is able to buy into and succeed by. Our mission is to ensure that we have a school community that empowers and inspires all. The hard work from staff and the relationships with our families give us the opportunity to provide a quality education for all children who enter the school. This popular school is always fully subscribed and that is testament to it’s popularity locally.

We are extremely proud to provide an excellent curriculum which enables the pupils to reach their greatest potential, enjoying the experience along the way. At all stages, results are at least in-line with the National figures, and better than the Birmingham averages; this is due to the excellent teaching staff that we have at the school who work tirelessly to ensure the best is provided.

Yet, it’s not about just academic progress and attainment. We also pride ourselves on providing a well-rounded curriculum that will therefore lead to well-rounded individuals who will become valuable members of the community when they get older. Our work linked to the United Nations Rights of the Child (RRSA) means that the children have a strong moral compass; our work with the Arts Mark ensures that they are developing skills to enable creativity.

We have built up a very strong relationship with Thornton Primary School, where the children move on to when they start Year 3. We are continually working together to ensure that our schools operate in a linked way, and regular communication between staff at both schools enables us to promote this strong partnership, leading to a very smooth transition from Sladefield to Thornton at the end of Year 2.

Our doors are always open to our school community, and we are here to help and support in whatever way we can.

Please enjoy taking a look around our website. If you have any comments or feedback, please feel free to send us a message using the ‘Contacts’ page.

We were super excited to have a special delivery from the Children’s Book Project. This amazing programme delivers books to children in schools and has been working in the Birmingham area.

We had our very own Book Shop set up in the hall for parents to come along with their child and choose 2 books to take home and keep forever. How amazing is that!!!! So important for our children to have books to read at home.

Very happy children and families! The buzz around school was fantastic!

They are looking for other schools in the Birmingham area to sign up.
